DTM for Eastern European countries Having processed 1:50,000 scale topographic maps, VISICOM has created 5m resolution DTMs with full coverage of following countries: Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria. In spite of high accuracy, cost of created models is enough low. Any model of this list can be supplied to consumer within 1 week. Details
Usage of digital maps in telecommunication Digital map for radioplanning purposes (here and after digital map) is a derived product from geodata (GIS data), that is usually consists of Land Use Map/Clutter model, Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and Line vector data. Also digital map may contain other components in propagation environment that may influence making-decision process. The requirements to the map content, accuracy are different depending on radio-planning tasks. Radio-planning process uses the classic theory of Spatial Analysis based on GIS concepts and includes specific telecommunication parameters into multicriteria analysis like diffraction factor according to the land use type. As a result of this process RF-planning department develops the propagation map for the wireless network. In some cases Spatial Analysis also includes geostatistics in calculations, for instance, population density to cover the most populated areas first. In telecommunication industry radio-planning or optimization of existing wireless networks are widely used for many years. These processes allow to make optimal and the most efficient radio network for particular territory by means of simulation different scenarios on location of base stations in the network. Details
