25 march 2010 :: Countrywide model of Kazakhstan

Under the contract with biggest mobile operator of Kazakhstanl, VISICOM created 2D model of all Kazakh territory with 50 m resolution. Also as it was stipulated by the contract, 17 2D city models with 10m resolution were created and then integrated in overall countrywide model.

This model was created for the Kcell’s ambitious project to make the mobile communication accessible across the country. Within this project’s framework, Kcell launched mobile communication services in all the Kazakh towns with population more than 5,000 inhabitants. Next stage of this program is to provide mobile communication services in all the towns and villages of Kazakhstan with population more than 1,000 inhabitants. This result is planned to be achieved till year 2012. And for this stage realization, Kcell needed countrywide 2D model. But because of continuous work for optimization of the existing network, Kcell needed also 2D models of 17 Kazakh major cities with 10m resolution. These models were prepared by VISICOM developers and integrated in overall countrywide model.
