08 june 2010 :: VISICOM’s team completed development of the city of Lima 3D model

     By the beginning of June, VISICOM completed development of high-accuracy 3D model of the city of Lima. This model was created in the framework of cooperation with Russian company Scartel for its brand Yota del Peru.
     Lima 3D model became the third in line of Latin America cities models and the first in its Peruvian project. Further, VISICOM plans to continue 3D models creation of Latin American region, as it is considered as one of the most perspective. It is stimulated by the fact that key partner of VISICOM in the region is Scartel, which realize considerably active expansion to the Latin American market. Recently Scartel’s representatives announced about the reorienting their efforts on the LTE networks development, particularly in Latin America. For those networks planning and optimization high-precision 3D models are needed.

 

3D model’s parameters:

Resolution – 2m;
Planimetric accuracy – 7-10m;
Vertical accuracy (z) – 2,5-3m

 Source – stereo pairs of satellite images WorldView-1 with 0,5m resolution, dated 16/12/2009.

 Model layers:

Digital terrain model;
Clutter model (17 objects classes);
Building heights model;
Vector model (9 objects classes);
Text labels (3 classes).
